It specifically targets the existing stronger manufacturing sectors of the region, (furniture and food processing sub-sectors). It also intends to assist the arts and crafts sub-sectors.
MEDA GO TO EUROPE - Enhancing the participation of Mediterranean countries in the area of food quality and safety in framework program 7
Financed by the European Union, this project is carried out by a consortium consisting of 16 partners both from EU Member states and from the Mediterranean region (France, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Slovenia, Romania, Turkey, Morocco, Tunesia, Egypt, Algeria and Lebanon).
The main objective of this project is to reach a better, faster and more balanced implementation of the EU’s 7th Framework Programme (FP7) in the area of food, agriculture and biotechnology especially in Mediterranean countries. FP 7 is the continuation of FP 6 (2002-2006) whose objective is to establish a financial instrument in view of creating a true European research area.
Furthermore, the project aims to raise the quantity and quality of research projects particularly from Mediterranean countries in the area of "Food Quality and Safety", increasing the number of successful participants to FP6 and FP7, and fostering the cooperation between research communities from member states and Mediterranean countries.
